Q. Does the Society have a mission statement it lives by?

A. Yes and it can be found here

Q. I have some items I think the museum would like. How can I donate them and is there any guidelines to donating?

A. Although we are always looking for items from Boone County's history, there are some guidelines and they can be found here.

Q. I am interested in volunteering. Are you looking for volunteers?

A. Yes, volunteers are the heart of the museum, without them, we would not be where we are today. Information on volunteering can be found here.

Q. I see all of the events and things the museum is involved in and would love to become a member, how can I do this?

A. Our members are very important to us and it is with those dues that help keep the museum running. Information on membership can be found here.

Q. I have noticed that the museum has expanded into the old Blackhawk Bank on Locust Street. Are there displays in that building as well?

A. No, the old bank is now home to our Research Center. Information on the new facility can be found here.

Q. I want to bring my family to the museum, how long does it take to go through?

A. In order to take in everything the museum has to see, you should plan on an hour and a half.

Q. I need to come to the Research Center but you are closed on Saturday, is there any other way I can access your information?

A. We hear that alot and have good news! Beginning July 1, 2010, the Museum and Research Center will have the same expanded hours. Click here for the new hours.

Q. I would love to have someone from the museum come speak, is that possible?

A. Absolutely, we would love too, just call the museum to set it up.

Q. We have noticed there is a new format for displaying obituaries, how do we use it?

A. We have created a simple pdf for our obits to allow for easier searching as well as easier updating. Once you have the pdf loaded, simply type in the last name you are searching hit enter and you will be taken right to that name.
